Finding Rest After the Hustle—My Top Tips for Battling Exhaustion

First things first—a massive THANK YOU for helping us achieve another record-breaking sale weekend! It was such a blast, and I’m so grateful to everyone who showed up, whether you were browsing, buying, or simply cheering us on. These sales are some of the most fun (and frantic!) days we have at Green Roost, but let me tell you, there’s a whole lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. Our team pours their hearts into making these events a success, prepping weeks in advance to ensure everything goes smoothly. And once the dust settles, well, it’s safe to say we all need a little R&R.

This past Wednesday, I had a full day off. Now, usually, my to-do list would be calling my name—laundry, errands, catching up on all the things—but this time, I decided to do something radical. I rested. I mean, truly rested. And let me tell you, it took me years (YEARS!) to figure out how to actually rest without feeling guilty about it. But I’m learning. I’m learning to listen when my body says, “Hey, maybe let’s not push to the point of exhaustion today.”

It’s not always easy, and it’s definitely still a work in progress, but here are a few things I’ve been trying to keep that exhaustion at bay:

1) Allow Myself to Take a Break—Guilt-Free: This one’s a game-changer. Learning to rest without feeling like I should be doing something else is tough, but it's so necessary. Your body (and mind) will thank you.

2) Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: I’m a firm believer in the power of hydration. My “emotional support water bottle” is never far from my side, and it makes a world of difference when I keep those H2O levels up.

3) Prioritize What Truly Needs to Get Done: Sometimes, everything feels urgent, but I’ve found that not everything is equally important. On days when I’m running on empty, I focus on the top one or two things that need my attention, and I let the rest wait. That way, I’m not spreading myself too thin.

So, what about you? What’s your go-to move when exhaustion starts creeping in? I’d love to hear your tips—they just might be exactly what someone else in our Green Roost family needs to hear.
