Every Thursday, I step in front of a camera, mic myself up, and try on clothes.
It’s a little bit retail, a little bit reality TV, and a whole lot of vulnerability—because trying things on in general can feel intimidating. Trying them on professionally, with the world watching? That’s a different level.
The truth is, even after all these years, I still have moments where I pick something up and think, Nope. Not for me.
Not because I don’t like the item—but because I don’t like how I think I’ll feel in it.

That was exactly how I felt the first time I tried on the Universal Standard jumpsuit about a month ago.
It was black, sleek, and—if I’m honest—I almost skipped it. I had already decided it was a “for someone else” kind of piece. You know the ones. But because I was filming, I figured I might as well.
And the moment I put it on, everything shifted.
It was comfortable but tailored. Effortless but elevated. It made me feel good. Like me—but the version who drinks her coffee hot and answers emails on time (neither of which I do).
Fast forward to this week—and guess what showed up in Clover green?

Yep. The same jumpsuit. And yes, it came home with me again. Because when something makes you feel that good, you don’t ask twice.
Here’s the thing: I’m generally confident. I’m proud of the work I do and the businesses I’ve built. But when it comes to my body? That’s where the inner critic still lives.
I share this because I want you to know that even if it looks like someone has it all together, we’re all working through something. And that moment when a woman walks into the store, looks at a piece and says, “No way,”—and then we gently say, “Just try it…”
That transformation? The look on her face when she realizes it does work? That will always be my favorite part of this job.
So here’s your nudge to try it.
Whether it’s the jumpsuit, the dress, or the top that feels “too bold”—whatever you’ve written off. You might be surprised what happens when you give it a chance.
