Pivot, pivot...PI-VOT!

You know how it goes—just when you think you’ve got everything lined up, life has other plans. I came back from Atlanta buzzing with inspiration. I had visions of new displays, fun patterns, and everything I’d just seen at market swirling in my head. I was ready to roll. I always get this way after a buying trip—fueled up and eager to get back to the grind.

But... life had its own version of the Ross Geller “PIVOT” moment planned for me.

On Friday, I was back at Green Roost, and by Saturday, I was right back home. Grant came down with RSV, and with my husband out of town, I was solo parenting and managing a business all at once. Not quite the week I had in mind.

So, I did what every mom/business owner/adult in general has to do from time to time: I pivoted. I rearranged my entire week. In years past, I’d have stubbornly tried to manage everything solo, but I’ve learned (the hard way) that there’s no prize for burnout. This time, I did the tough thing and asked for help.

My brother and sister-in-law stepped up to take Harrison to his trunk-or-treat, my team kept things running smoothly at the shop (you probably didn’t even know I was missing!), and Renee even brought everything I needed to film my first-ever home try-on—ring light, accessories, and all! That’s right, I set up shop in my closet, determined to make it work, because that’s just what we do.

And here’s the big takeaway: when life throws you curveballs, it doesn’t do any good to stay rigid. It’s all about the pivot. And sometimes, the pivot isn’t just a shift in plans—it’s a shift in mindset.

Thank you for sticking with me, for loving Green Roost through all the twists and turns, and for always making this journey worthwhile. I appreciate you more than you know.
