The Post I Almost Didn’t Publish…

You’d think that after nearly 14 years of owning a retail store, I’d be immune to the nerves that come with putting myself out there.

Spoiler: I’m not.

Even now—after two straight weeks of showing up more consistently on social media for Green Roost—I still hesitate before I hit “post.” Not because I don’t believe in what I’m sharing, but because that little voice in my head still whispers:

“What if someone rolls their eyes?”
“What if they unfollow?”

But Here’s What I’ve Learned

Sometimes they do unfollow. And honestly? That’s OK.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve taken from my mastermind group and my coach is this:
It’s not your job to be for everyone.
It’s your job to be real—for the right ones.

The ones who get it.
The ones who keep showing up.
The ones who see the heart behind the business.

Case in Point: That Pink Video

Did you catch me singing Pink in my car this week?

That was one of those moments. I almost didn’t share it. It felt a little too silly… a little too me. But I shared it anyway because it was real. And that kind of authenticity? That’s what people connect with—even if a few scroll past or look away.

And the truth is, the more I lean into being myself—fully and unapologetically—the more the right people find me. Not just as customers, but as community.

So, Thank You.

If you’ve read a post, watched a video, or opened one of these emails—thank you.
You’re my people. You’re Green Roost people.
And I’m so grateful for you.

With love, always—
Kelsey

P.S. I’ve got more try-ons, behind-the-scenes, and little stories coming your way soon. If there’s something you want to see more of, leave a comment or send me a message—I’d love to hear from you.
